California Proposition 65 Declaration

To all Gerlinger Steel customers, end users, and employees:
Effective September 2018, California's Proposition 65 (the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings before knowingly and intentionally exposing individuals to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
Gerlinger Steel & Supply sells steel and metal products. Steel and other metal products may contain chemicals listed under Proposition 65, including but not limited to lead, chromium, nickel, and other metals and compounds.
WARNING: Steel and metal products sold by Gerlinger Steel & Supply may expose you to chemicals including lead and chromium (hexavalent compounds), which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, and lead and lead compounds, which are known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. This warning is provided in good faith to comply with Proposition 65. It does not necessarily mean that exposure to these chemicals from our products will cause harm, or that our products are unsafe when handled in accordance with standard industry practices and applicable safety regulations.
